Baxter Institute in Tegucigalpa, Honduras is a beautiful place.  It is a quiet, tranquil setting of trees, buildings, and outside the window where I am working, the sound of a waterfall and birds singing.  It is primarily a training center and four year school for preachers, but also serves as a meeting point for missionaries working in Honduras.  Today starts the annual seminar for the Institute and already many have gathered from Latin America to hear and participate in the lectures.  I feel very fortunate to be able to be here.  [side note: The kitchen just finished some sweet rolls and said I could taste test them if I wanted.  Definitely the best I have had in years.]
But all this brings to mind the goal.  As beautiful as it is here among such wonderful people and amidst this tranquil setting, it is only temporary.  Not only in this life, but for eternity.  We live and work in a different setting.  We interact daily with people who are not so nice and a setting that is definitely not as tranquil or relaxing.  But thanks be to our God who gives us tranquility of purpose in the midst of the angry, violent noise of this life.  And then gives us a home forever where never an angry word will we hear.  May the peace of Christ dwell richly in your heart and in your actions every day.
